Known issues:
- DALLAS RTC coin cell empty
The motherboard's Real-Time Clock (RTC) chip contains a coin cell that may have drained, causing the loss of CMOS settings. This can result in an inability to save settings, causing system instability or failure to boot. To fix this, the RTC chip can be replaced with an equivalent or repaired by cutting into it and soldering on a new external coin cell holder. Replacement guides are available at https://github.com/necroware/nwX287 or https://github.com/necroware/nw12887, depending on the actual chip used.
Notes:
-
The 030797 (i.e. latest) BIOS is made for a different revision of the BIOS Flash chip, causing a likely corruption at address 0x15555 when using the original chip. After building the DMI data the machine will reboot to the recovery boot block due to invalid checksum. We have identified the problem and added a fixed version of the BIOS in the Downloads section.
-
There is a 4x Multiplier setting that is undocumented (JP3: CLOSE, JP4: OPEN, JP5: CLOSE).
-
The manual does not list the pin layout for the USB/PS2-Mouse Combo Connector (it just says "Reserved for Future Use"). We have reverse-engineered this pin layout and added it to the Downloads section as a separate PDF file.

With the 071896 BIOS there are some SCSI controller incompatibilities (e.g. Adaptec 29160/39160). Use 030797 instead.
