The NxMC is accessed with the same mechanism as PCI devices, but with different ports 0xFCF8 and 0xFCFC instead of the usual 0x0CF8 / 0x0CFC. The register layout does not follow the PCI spec, there is no Config Space Header. So VendorID is not applicable here.

The first DWORD reads 0x4d430102. The high word is 'MC', the low word is a version. 0x0102 is for the initial version VL82C500PSFC, 0x0103 is for the newer VL82C500PSFC1. The initial version can handle FPM (Fast Page Mode) RAM only. Revision 1 can handle FPM and EDO (Extended Data Out) RAM.
